Playoffs and Politics
By Rob Guerrera
Apologies for my absence – thank you sinus infection.
Speaking of thank yous, here are some others:
I’d like to thank the Seattle Seahawks defense for not getting off the bus against the Packers at Lambeau. Another week of Brett Favre gushing. Joy.
Thank you, Colts’ offensive line, especially Tony Ugoh, for not blocking Shawne Merriman (or any other Chargers’ player) at the most important times last week. Now we get to see the Patriots in the Super Bowl – again.
Thank you to whoever woke up Eli Manning- at least the monkey is off his back for one week.
And lastly, thank you Randy Moss, for doing the other thing you do so well – screwing up. For seventeen games you almost had us all thinking you were a changed man. These battery allegations have attracted just enough bad press to remind Bill Belichick who you really are. Now you can look forward to wearing a new jersey next season, and the other 31 teams in the NFL can look forward to a fighting chance in ’08.
As far as the rest of the playoffs, I’m taking the Patriots over the Chargers and the Giants over the Packers. The Super Bowl will be a Patriots’ romp. The Patriots have the better quarterback and the better head coach. That’s all it comes down to in the NFL.
A quick note on the Congressional Hearings..
*yawn*
Thank You.
See you next week with Dom. I’m out like Norm Chow in Tennessee.
